San Diego Coalition for Reproductive Justice

The San Diego Coalition for Reproductive Justice is a consortium of approximately a dozen local organizations engaged in protecting everyone's right to make informed decisions -- free from government interference -- about whether and when to become a parent. We believe each person should have self-autonomy over their reproductive health and rights.

As a coalition, we leverage the resources and capacities of our individual organizations by working together to achieve common goals. We call for reproductive justice and preserving the right to privacy in San Diego. As a 501 c(3), the CRJ is an all-volunteer run organization.

Our members include:

ACLU of San Diego and Imperial Counties

California Latinas for Reproductive Justice

First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego

International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 122

Lawyers Club of San Diego

Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest

Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest

CRJ Sunday FUND-Day

Membership Event & Poster Making Party

Sunday, July 10, 2022

1:00 - 2:30 PM

Sisters Pizza | 3603 Fourth Ave, San Diego, CA 92103

We invite you to come and join us at our Annual Membership Event. The Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe V. Wade has already had swift consequences and is dangerous for communities nationwide. Eight states immediately enacted bans on abortions, and at least five more states have trigger laws in place to ban abortions in the upcoming days and weeks, including Wyoming. Abortion is healthcare, and we will continue to raise money to fight for everyone's right to access the care they need.

This year, all funds raised will be donated to Chelsea’s Fund in Wyoming. IIn March, Wyoming passed a trigger law that would ban abortion after Roe was overturned—and is now pending. Currently, 96% of the women in Wyoming live counties with no access to abortion care.

Featured Speaker

Mitchelle Woodson joined the Think Dignity staff in 2017 as the Staff Attorney for the Homeless Youth Legal Advocacy Project. Mitchelle directly represented homeless and at-risk youth in their criminal defense matters. Mitchelle’s primary goal was to ensure that each client was given the proper resources to support their growth and nourish their passions. Now as the Executive Director, Mitchelle oversees the daily management of Think Dignity’s operations, including the Transitional Storage Center, Mobile Operations of Dignity and legal department.

Mitchelle’s passion for advocating for San Diego’s homeless community has led to the growth and notoriety of TD as the premier organization for legal representation and advocacy. Mitchelle has received recognition for her advocacy efforts as the recipient of the 2019 Molina Community Champion Award, 2020 Anthony M. Medina Community Champion Award, 2020 and 2021 Aetna Community Heart Award. You can find out more information about Mitchelle's wonderful accomplishments here.

We hope that you will join us to learn about CRJ and contribute our support to the Chelsea Fund as they work to provide support and help Wyomingians pay for the cost of abortion care

Suggested donation of $25, Student $10.

Join the San Diego Coalition for Reproductive Justice for our Fall Membership Event, with a special presentation and discussion on Reproductive Justice 101, featuring Kimala Price, Associate Professor and Chair of Women's Studies at SDSU. We are excited to explore the evolving landscape of reproductive justice in 2021 and beyond.

In light of the Supreme Court’s decision to allow the unconstitutional S.B. 8 to take effect in Texas, this event's contributions will support Texas Abortion Funds. The contributions raised to the Texas Abortion Funds collective will be disbursed evenly among ten different abortion funds in Texas, including Texas Equal Access Fund, Jane's Due Process, Whole Woman's Health Alliance, Inc., The Bridge Collective, Support Your Sistah at the Afiya Center, Clinic Access Support Network, Frontera Fund, the Lilith Fund, Fund Texas Choice, and West Fund. We hope that you will join us in contributing to support and provide compassionate abortion access to our Texas neighbors! You can make your donation in the RSVP link below.
